Information for Parents
This information is provided to parents and guardians so that we can explain what we do and what you can do to keep your children safe and secure online.
Simply4Kidz is aimed at children between ages four (4) to twelve (12) and Simply4Teenz between ages thirteen (13) to seventeen (17) to promote involvement in sport, activities, hobbies and other interests.
Simply Searching is aimed at ages eighteen (18) upwards and includes events, activities and areas of common interest not only for adults but also for the whole family.
Event Organisers around the country list their facilities and events specific to each age group which can then be searched for within the respective service, Simply4Kidz, Simply4Teenz and Simply Searching.
This is what we do for your children:
- We do not provide a social networking site for children
- Children and Teenagers are restricted to searching for activities and events only
- Organisers must supply separate information targeted specifically to kids, teenagers and adults/family
- No adult can interact with a child or teenager in any way
- Organisers are vetted before their facilities or events are displayed on the system
- We monitor usage and activity
These are general guidelines:
- Be aware of your child's internet usage and browsing activities
- Position the computer in a place where the monitor is easily seen within the home
- Set time limits for when the computer can be used
- Be involved with your child's activity, there is a no better way to be informed than to be involved
- Ensure that you are aware of any activities or events your child wishes to participate in
- Be the conduit of communication between the event organiser and your child
